As Father Time turned another year older, so did I (well not til January 11th, but technically we are all going to get a year older this year regardless of when our special day falls). My Bucket List always gets special attention this time of year as I reflect on last year's list and see how well I filled in the completed column and what goals were left undone. As is common with my plan, what started out as a priority for the year changed along the way as my goals changed.
This year my main goal is to run a 1/2 marathon! That's it! That is a lot (for me)! I've been following a training program and it is going to happen. Actually it is going to be a year of health and fitness! I want to encourage others to join in the lifelong journey of fitness. One day it becomes clear that our health is not a "6 weeks to better buns" plan, it is "LIFE" long, and finding the balance and the committment to make that a priority is the only way to be find success. That day, for me, was nearly 2 years ago. I have not lost much weight, but my health has improved and I feel wonderful. Now when my lottery numbers come up....... it will be a perfect world! Hee Hee! :)
Cheers,
Michelle

Back to previously scheduled programing!
Ok false alarm. Snow is gone, sun is shining, mom is home safe, hockey team will have good roads to travel home on, snow tires are still on so expect a heat wave. I know, I know, I have lived this life for 23 winters and I know that the first snowfall is just a sample of what's to come....and stay.
That's all I have to say about that....

Why did it snow today?
Well I have a few theories.....first, something unusual happened. I had my winter tire put on my truck yesterday and it snowed today, hmmmm. Unusual, why is that unusual? Well it almost never works like that, I put on the winters and we get a heat wave, I take off the winters and it snows 6 inches.
Second theory - first road trip for the Bantam hockey team this weekend. Traveling 6 hours is so much more fun in the snow. I must admit getting that first winter drive out of the way somehow prepares us for the what is to come (for the next 6 months).
Third and final theory (I promise) - mom is in Vancouver, which is 7+ hours away looking after my lil sista's kids and was planning to drive home today. Mom is terrified of winter driving (why does she live here you ask? - I'll save that for another day). One year, Christmas was all but cancelled because they wouldn't drive in the snow. So I did what any dear, caring daughter would do, left them at home, alone. Ok don't think those things of me, I love my mom and I look forward to seeing her in April when the snow melts and she feels the risk of white stuff has passed.
Alright I lied, one more thought about that white stuff, it is November and I guess we have been lucky that it did not come earlier as it very well could have.
I'm off to start my Chirstmas baking (nothing like snow jumpstart Christmas in the house).

Keurig magic!
I have made some great discoveries in my life and I must share my current favorite! My Keurig single cup coffee maker and milk frother. I feel like a barista every morning. I had intended to purchase the Tassimo brewer, but while researching that brand I discovered there was another player in the game (well there was more than one other player). As I read into the subject I discovered the great reviews that the Keurig machine was getting and decided to go for it. After purchasing my Keurig in January (2010) I have to concur, I have found it amazingly easy to operate and the coffee is also amazing. If it wasn't for the dogs and kids and the mess on the kitchen table I would never know I was at home (the kids and the dogs aren't on the table).
And so the inspiration for this card! The perfect blend!

Well this is new...
I, like many of you, have been following blogs of many fun, talented people for a while now and thought "hey, maybe this is something I could really get into". So here goes, I have no idea what I am doing and will "hopefully" learn as I go. I have some great mentors out there so I hope I can borrow some ideas from others and create something that is uniquely mine. I will be patient with myself (easier said than done) and have fun on the journey.
Thinking inside the bucket,
